Angenommen als Dissertation durch den Fachbereich Wirtschaftswissenschaften der Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main.This work is an excellent contribution to improve sourcing decision-making in the banking industry. Additionally parts of the work can also be applied to other industries, like the general framework on sourcing decision-making and the real options model. The mathematical models are very innovative and embedded into sound investment theoretical approaches and empirical findings of already conducted research in the realm of sourcing. Especially the real options model to conduct sourcing decisions is an extraordinary contribution, as it determines the most cost efficient strategy for in- and outsourcing decisions under (market-) uncertainty.
